Cheer My WISH charity soapbox racers, in Bury St Edmunds, over the finish line this weekend
Families are being invited to watch a free Soapbox Challenge taking place in Bury St Edmunds this weekend.
This will be the fifth year the event, fund-raising for the My WISH charity, will entertain crowds in the town.
Sally Daniels, My WISH fund-raising manager, said: “It is set to be a great family event, it is free to spectate and all money raised will go to My WISH.
“The soapbox parade kicks off the whole event and people will be able to see all the soapboxes at Soapbox City at the Priory School.”
Gates to the Soapbox City will open at 10.30am on Saturday, with the racing fun continuing until 3pm.
Each team will have a promotional stand at the school, giving people the opportunity to find out more about about the organisation behind each soapbox.
Teams will have two chances to impress the judges with their vehicles and race as fast as they can.
The first race will follow the Soapbox Parade at 11am, with round two starting at about 12.30pm.
Those watching will be given a chequered flag to help wave the soapboxes over the finish line.
Refreshments and toilets will be available for spectators and there will be collection buckets for My WISH.
More information about the challenge, and My WISH can be found here.
As a local NHS Charity, My WISH enhances the work of the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.
