Health Hub will host specialist physio for cancer patients at All Saints Hotel, Fornham St Genevieve

A joint enterprise between a health club and two cancer physiotherapy specialists is being launched this month.

The Health Hub at All Saints Hotel is teaming up with Ribbon Health to offer cancer rehabilitation and education courses.

Anna Clayton and Hayley Jarvill from Bury St Edmunds are private oncology physiotherapists and will offer a range of courses at the hub.

The two worked together for a large corporate organisation and both have scholarships in oncology rehabilitation.

Hayley said: "There is very little out there tailored to the individual and every type of cancer has different needs and different surgery."!

Rehabilitation on offer includes one to one physiotherapy consultations, physiotherapy treatments such as acupuncture, scar tissue management and individual rehabilitation plus Pilates sessions for pre and post surgery.

There is also a three hour health and well-being programme individually tailored to the patient. This includes group sessions of Pilates, hydrotherapy, relaxation sessions and individual rehabilitation programmes to help patients manage side effects from treatment, return to sport, hobbies and work, and reduce the long term effects following cancer treatments.

There will also be overnight stays and rehabilitation for patients and their carers, families or loved ones. These will offer physio, hydrotherapy, luxury accommodation and nutritional menus tailored to cancer patients.

The scheme launches to consultants, GPs and health care professionals on May 13 at All Saints Hotel, Fornham St Genevieve 6pm to 7.30pm.
