Happy New Year to Bury St Edmunds’ new arrivals

Happy New Year

Six families got 2015 off to a memorable start with the arrival of a new baby at West Suffolk Hospital.

The couples, from Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket, Fornham St Genevieve, Brandon, Feltwell and Great Cornard, all celebrated the birth of a child at the Bury hospital on New Year’s Day.

Nicola and Jason Boseley’s son, Miller, was the first to be born yesterday, at 11.09am.

He weighed 6lbs 14½oz and is the couple’s fourth son.

“We’re going for a football team I think,” joked Nicola, from Fornham St Genevieve.

She added: “It was a lovely surprise for him to be born on New Year’s Day, and to be the first at West Suffolk Hospital.

“He’s very content and fast asleep. How long that will last though I don’t I know - we’re just keeping our fingers crossed.”

Kristen and Matthew Jolley, from Bury, welcomed their daughter, Elizabeth, into the world at 10.51pm.

She was four days early and weighed 7lbs 2ozs.

Kristen said: “We were excited and quite happy to have a New Year’s Day baby. Our son, Wesley, was born on April 1 so they’re exactly 21 months apart. I’d wanted the first - that’s what I was really hoping for.”

“She’s still quite sleepy but is doing really well - she’s absolutely perfect,” she added.
