Greggs forced to close stores across the country due to payment issues

Greggs was forced to close stores across the country due to IT problems this morning.

A statement from the company said: "We are currently experiencing issues accepting payments in our shops."

A spokesperson has since confirmed the issue has been resolved and the majority of shops affected are now able to take card and cash payments again.

It is unclear how many stores were affected.

Some were operating on a cash-only basis.

McDonalds, Sainsbury's, Argos and Tesco have also recently had problems processing payments.
