Great Barton collision update: pedestrian left with life threatening injuries as lorry driver is released under investigation by police




Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious road collision occurred on the A143 in Great Barton between a pedestrian and lorry.

Officers were called just after 11am yesterday (Monday).

The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, has been taken to Addenbrooke’s hospital in Cambridge by air ambulance with life-threatening injuries and his condition is described as critical.

The 35-year-old male driver of the lorry failed to stop at the scene but was located by police a short time later and was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, he has since been released under investigation.

The road was closed while initial investigations were carried out by the Serious Collision Investigation Team but has since reopened.
