Former Riverwalk School site in Bury St Edmunds to be used as large Covid-19 vaccination centre

A new Covid-19 vaccination site is due to open in Bury St Edmunds this week.

The Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust has confirmed that the former Riverwalk School site, in Chevington Close, will be used as a large vaccination centre.

It is understood the site will open on Thursday and is one of six new large NHS vaccination centres across Essex and Suffolk launching this week.

They are Chelmsford City Racecourse, Colchester United Jobserve Community Stadium, The Cliffs Pavilion in Southend-on-Sea, Clacton Hospital and Alastair Farquharson Centre at Thurrock Community Hospital.

The trust said slots are opening regularly at all centres and those who have received a letter should book in 'as soon as possible following the instructions in the letter'.

A mass vaccination hub opened at Newmarket's Rowley Mile racecourse on Saturday after one opened in Ipswich on Tuesday.
