Fire at Bury Town Football Club at Ram Meadow in Bury St Edmunds




A fire at a Bury St Edmunds football club’s kitchen was put out by firefighters last night.

Smoke was seen spreading from a kitchen window at Bury Town Football Club, at Ram Meadow, at around 9.10pm yesterday.

Two fire engines from Bury St Edmunds attended the scene.

The fire was out by 10.30pm and there were no reported casualties.

Firefighters used breathing equipment, three hoses and a thermal imaging camera to help extinguish the blaze.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will be carried out today.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue’s protection team will also visit the site and provide free advice on fire safety, to help avoid future incidents.
