Bury St Edmunds firefighters rescue man trapped in lift at WHSmith

Firefighters helped rescue a man trapped in a lift at a Bury St Edmunds town centre shop.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the incident at WHSmith, in Cornhill, at 2.27pm.

A spokesman said a man, with a medical condition, was trapped in a lift.

The person was rescued and the incident dealt with by 2.45pm.

One crew from Bury St Edmunds attended.
