Father of Thetford murder victim pays tribute




The father of murdered 25-year-old David Lawal has paid tribute to his son as a police investigation continues into his death.

Mr Lawal was discovered by members of the public on the side of Brandon Road on Thursday.

Despite efforts made by them and paramedics to save his life, Mr Lawal was pronounced dead at the scene just before 8pm from a single stab wound to the neck/upper chest area.

His father, Albert Lawal, said: "All the family loved him and he was a quiet, friendly and hardworking young man. We were all very proud of him when he was awarded his degree in accountancy and finance.”

The investigation into his murder is ongoing and residents of Durham Way in Thetford have reported seeing a 'heavy' police presence at a property on the street for around three days now.

A Norfolk Police spokesman said: "Police officers will be visiting a number of addresses in the Thetford area, including the property in Durham Way, as part of our investigation in to the murder of a 25 year old man in Thetford last Thursday evening."

Three people arrested in connection with the murder have been released while the investigation continues.
