Five Suffolk National Trust sites, including Ickworth, Sutton Hoo and Flatford, offering Easter trails this April
WIth Easter fast approaching (don’t say we didn’t warn you), Suffolk families looking for themed activities over the season might want to consider a National Trust egg trail.
Children can explore mazes and meadows, kitchen gardens and orchards, parkland and woodland bursting with the signs of spring at the events, which are being held over the bank holiday weekend (April 18-21) and school holidays.
Nature-inspired crafts, egg and spoon races, welly wanging, den-building, seed planting and more will be on offer at these Suffolk events:
Sutton Hoo, Easter adventure trail, April 5-21
Watch the landscape of Sutton Hoo come to life and enjoy bright spring views from the top of the 17-metre viewing tower and escape into the history of one of the most important archaeological sites in the High Hall exhibition and explore Tranmer House.
Visitors from April 5-21 can enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of spring on Sutton Hoo’s Easter trail and discover what life was like centuries ago – including what might link an Anglo-Saxon goddess to today's Easter bunny.
Normal admission plus £3.50 per trail, includes an egg.
Dunwich Heath and Beach, Easter adventure trail, April 14-21
On the Suffolk Coast, Dunwich Heath and Beach offers a sense of being at one with nature and this Easter, visitors can join Bunny and Chick for a rhyming adventure in the great outdoors, with Easter trail sheets and bunny ears.
