Emergency services called to crash at junction of Thetford Road and A1088 in Ixworth

Police, fire and ambulance have been called to the scene of a crash in Ixworth.

The crash, between a Volvo V40 and Citroen Berlingo happened just after 1pm today at the junction of Thetford Road and the A1088.

Fire crews from Ixworth and Bury St Edmunds were called by police to reports of a Citroen in the undergrowth.

A man and a woman were freed from the vehicle and taken from the scene by ambulance.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police said Thetford Road has been closed following the accident but will shortly reopen.
