Man in 80s dies after A14 crash in Bury St Edmunds




A man in his 80s has died after a crash on the A14 in Bury St Edmunds last week.

Officers were alerted to junction 43 at 8.56am on Thursday following reports of a three-vehicle crash.

The collision involved two cars – a silver Renault Scenic and a grey Citroen C4 – and a white Vauxhall Vivaro van on the eastbound route.

The road was shut in both directions but reopened by 12.50pm.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police said the driver of the Renault suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he died on Sunday.

In addition, a female passenger went home after the incident but was later sent to hospital, where she remains.

Police are still investigating the crash.
