But the Mildenhall Fen Tigers are aiming to to run the fund-raiser again this Sunday for Clic Sargent in memory of Shelly Dring who died from cancer aged 24.In the meantime Daniel Turner, who was engaged to Shelly when she died in 2009, has been helped with a fund-raiser by his football team, Eastbury Eagles who have raised £520.

Daniel is aiming to raise £4,000 for the charity by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

Eagles manager Liam Shore had an ice bucket thrown over him after their first game of the season and also wore a dress throughout the game.

Daniel said: “They have been there for me through the entire journey from the first day I met Shelly, through the sad time she passed away and through all my events since.

I’d like to thank all the lads and their other halfs for all their generosity and support and a big thank you to Liam for being a great sport and helping me raise as much as possible.”
