A woman could be facing prison after crashing into a vehicle while nearly four times the drink-drive limit.

Michelle Dawn Jackson, 31, of Aspal Way, Beck Row, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Prosecuting, Ian Devine said police were called to the Aspal Lane and Aspal Way area of Beck Row following reports of a collision between a Peugeot 206 and Transit van on November 14.

Jackson, the driver of the Peugeot, was breathalysed, recording 137 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35.

In mitigation, Mary Peck said Jackson, who is estranged from her partner and two children, had suffered from depression for two years and had sought treatment for ‘alcohol related difficulties’.

Jackson received an interim driving ban until her sentencing on January 8.
