Bury St Edmunds bus station street art divides opinion in local Facebook group

A local resident's post about 'vandalism' at Bury St Edmunds bus station has sparked debate online.

On his way to work this morning, David Hardy took a photograph of what is often called 'street art' on a wall.

Mr Hardy posted his photograph in the We Really Love Bury St Edmunds Facebook group, with his opinion: "More disgusting vandalism overnight at the bus station."

In the comments underneath the Facebook post, many group members disagreed with Mr Hardy, describing it as 'art'.

The mysterious bus station man is apparently made from paper, and a similar piece of street art has also been spotted outside B&Q in Bury St Edmunds.

Speaking to Suffolk News, Mr Hardy said his issue with the artwork is that the artist apparently has not asked permission.

He said: "With permission it would make a good project wall for the young to display their talents."
