“We sent an ambulance and an ambulance officer vehicle.

“One person was taken to West Suffolk Hospital for further care.”

Police were then called to the collision at 8.10am.

A spokeswoman said it was believed the driver of the lorry may have experienced a medical episode, just before the start of the contraflow system for the ongoing roadworks.

The A14 was partially closed while the emergency services dealt with the collision.

According to the AA map traffic is now moving freely in the area.
