Bury St Edmunds crash sees heavy delays on A14 and person taken to hospital




A person has been taken to hospital after a crash that caused heavy delays on the A14 outside Bury St Edmunds.

Police were called to a single-vehicle collision between junctions 43 and 44, near the turn-off to Compiegne Way, at 7.18am.

One lane was closed while recovery took place.

Both lanes reopened shortly before 8.45am, after recovery teams removed the vehicle.

A spokesman for the police said someone had been hospitalised.

No details about the injury were given.

The built-up congestion died down shortly before 10am.
