Criminal damage at Bury St Edmunds church




Two incidents of criminal damage have taken place at a church in Bury St Edmunds.

The first took place at St. Johns Church, in St. Johns Street, at some point between 6pm on Thursday, June 27, and 8.15am on Friday, June 28, where a door was forced open and a large amount damage was caused.

The second took place at the same location at some point between Saturday, June 29, at 6pm and Sunday, June 30, at 7.55am.

This time damage was caused to an oak money chest and brass cross. Together, the damage caused is estimated to be in the region of £1000 damage.

Anyone with information should contact police, quoting crime reference 37/38022/19 for the first incident and 37/38030/19 for the second.
