County Upper fire: Boy, 15, arrested for arson endangering life
A 15-year-old-boy was arrested on Friday for criminal damage - after an incident of suspected arson endangering life.
This follows after County Upper School in Bury St Edmunds was evacuated on Friday afternoon after a boys toilet block was reported to be on fire.
Two fire crews from the town attended the fire at the school in Beetons Way.
A small section of the ceiling was removed to check for any hotspots, which is standard procedure.
Vicky Neale, headteacher of the school said: "A small fire was very quickly extinguished by the fire brigade and school continued normally. Investigations into the cause are ongoing."
The boy was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
He was subsequently released under investigation pending further enquiries.
