Countdown to Bury St Edmunds Christmas lights switch on
The Christmas lights in Bury St Edmunds will be switched on next Thursday (November 14) at 7pm.
Daniel Challenor, from Wagamama, who saved a customer’s life, will do the honours.
The entertainment starts at 3pm with fairground rides, food stalls, more than 40 charity stalls and music.
Father Christmas will tour the town on a galleon and many shops will be open late.
The event is organised by Our Bury St Edmunds, which is making a donation to the East Anglian Air Ambulance on Daniel's behalf.
The activities and entertainment will continue until about 8pm.

Some roads will be closed in the town centre following Wednesday's regular market to allow for preparations for the event.
Father Christmas will switch on the arc shopping centre's lights at 7.15pm.
The arc will also launch its 'Merry WINmas' promotion giving customers the chance to scoop up to £100 every time they spend more than £20 at the shopping centre.
