Councillor boosts Lakenheath hall's funding
A project to repair and upgrade Lakenheath's Brendan Fulham Centre has had a boost of almost £3,000 thanks to its county and district councillor Colin Noble.
Cllr Noble presented a cheque for £2,904.72 from his locality fund to the Lakenheath Peace Memorial Hall Committee to help towards the work on the centre.
Cllr Noble said, "I am delighted to present a cheque for the repairs needed and to help towards the cost of upgrading to the latest emergency regulations."
A sagging ceiling required emergency support and local firm Sutton Services did that.
But committee member Robert Rolph said: "The committee extends their heartfelt thanks for Sutton's swift response and patience regarding payment for work.
"Without the help of the locality funding, paying for this work and upgrades to the emergency lighting in the centre, the committee would have been in a much more difficult situation."
The an extraordinary general meeting about the hall will be held at the centre at 7.30 pm on Thursday. Everyone interested in its future is asked to attend.
