West Suffolk Council reveals service changes for Queen's funeral on bank holiday Monday




The opening times and running of services will be changed on Monday, September 19, a council has said.

Various offices, cafés and public areas will either open later or be closed entirely.

This is to allow businesses and other organisations to pay their respects to Her Majesty on the day of her funeral.

Monday has been declared a bank holiday and marks the final day of national mourning.

Bin collections will be affected throughout the county, with warnings that many will be one day late for the whole week.

Many public buildings will be closed throughout the day of the 19th.

This includes West Suffolk Council's offices, Moyse’s Hall Museum and The Apex.

Parks and cemeteries across the district will be opened and closed as for a bank holiday

However, public toilets will remain open.

Park cafés and kiosks will either be open or closed depending on where they are.

Brandon Country Park Café, East Town Park kiosk in Haverhill and Haverhill Recreation Ground's Kiosk will be closed throughout the day.

Abbey Gardens Kiosk and Nowton Park Café , both in Bury St Edmunds, will close from 10.30am until noon.

Abbeycroft Leisure has said it will also be closing all its centres on Monday.
