Competition to name new flumes at Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre
Youngsters are being encouraged to enter a competition to name the new flumes at Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre.
The flumes will be open to the public in spring and Abbeycroft Leisure, which manages the centre with St Edmundsbury Borough Council, is holding a competition to name them.
It is open to all youngsters under 12 including schools and the winner will receive free swimming and flume membership for a year. They will also attend the opening and the winning names will be used for the flumes.
Clare Maller, Acting Centre Manager, said: “We are very excited to take delivery of our new flumes next month which we know customers, especially youngsters will enjoy.”
To enter, write the names you would give to each of the two flumes and write a short story of no more than 50 words about them and draw or colour an accompanying picture. Entry forms are available from reception at the leisure centre. The closing date is Monday, February 16.
