Rotary Classic Car Show returns to Bury St Edmunds with 550 vehicles on show

A bumper car show is set to return and showcase more than 500 cars from Minis to Ferraris.

The Rotary Classic Car Show, organised by Bury Abbey Rotary Club, will be hosted on the lawns of Culford School in Bury St Edmunds on Sunday, July 16 from 10am to 3pm.

The event has raised nearly £100,000 for different charities over the past nine years and this year’s chosen charity is East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

Lead organiser Peter Summers said: “We’re very proud of our event, built up over the last nine years.

“We now have ten acres of show area, having doubled in size since moving to our beautiful new venue in 2021.

“It means we can have 550 exhibits, compared to 180 previously, and we’re expecting to welcome between 4,000 and 5,000 visitors.

“We like supporting an organisation that resonates with people and one they truly care about.”

Tickets can be purchased by clicking here and prices range from £10 to £20 with a discounted offer for online purchases.

Along with classic cars like the rare Scootacar from 1959, the show will also offer more than 50 stalls including crafts, produce and hot food.

Disabled access is available and dogs are also welcome.

The car show was previously hosted in Elveden and its last two events supported the Teenage Cancer Trust raising £21,000 in 2021 and £27,000 in 2022.

Peter said that he ‘couldn’t think of a better cause’ than to support EACH this year.

He said: “It’s our pleasure to do what we can to raise money and my hope is that people come along not only to see the cars but also because they know who they’re supporting.”
