Charity's party unites families with fund-raisers

Fund-raisers and donors united with families they have been supporting at a charity tea party.

The GeeWizz charity, based at Fornham St Martin, held its second annual afternoon tea party last Sunday to say a 'big thank you' to everyone who has supported its work over the last year.

Gina Long, the charity's founder, said she was 'delighted' with the success of the event at Milsom's Kesgrave Hall.

"Saying 'thank you' is such an important part of any charity and we wanted everyone who has supported GeeWizz over the last 12 months, and beyond, to know how much we appreciate it," said Gina.

"We also wanted to invite the families we have helped - as part of the charity promoting transparent fund-raising in every way possible.

"I would like to say a very heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and everyone who supported what was a very special afternoon."

The event included fun and games for all the family as well as an afternoon tea.

GeeWizz focuses on providing specialist equipment to children and young adults up to the age of 21, living in Suffolk and Norfolk, with life-threatening conditions, disabilities or cancer.

Life-changing items purchased by the charity have included specialist electric wheelchairs, bespoke car seats, electric beds and mobility hoists.

Gina founded GeeWizz in November 2015, having been a charity fund-raiser for more than 40 years.
