Bury St Edmunds charity calls upon local businesses and organisations to join its popular soapbox event
A charity which supports a hospital trust is calling on businesses and organisations to get creative and join its soapbox event.
Last year saw a return of My WiSH Charity’s Soap Box Challenge after a break due to the pandemic.
The challenge, which is in its fourth year, sees racers design soapbox karts to tackle a timed course in Bury St Edmunds’ Mount Road on Saturday, September 2. Money raised will go towards the charity which supports West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.
Sue Smith, head of fund-raising for My WiSH, said: “We entered last year tentatively after the break, but it was such a fantastic day.
“To see the beaming smiles of team members and the roar of the crowd as the soapboxes raced made us realise that we had to bring it back in 2023.
“We couldn’t do this community event though without the support of our sponsors and we can’t thank Treatt enough for supporting us once again.”
Chloe Ludkin, who is the internal communications executive for Treatt, based in Skyliner Way, Bury, said: “I was lucky enough to be a judge last year and saw just how much work goes into putting on this great event.
“Treatt is thrilled to be able to sponsor the day once again and bring smiles to the community as well as help local businesses promote themselves. It’s just a great day to be involved with.”
