Care homes win top prizes in Bury St Edmunds gardening competition Bury in Bloom
Residents at two Bury St Edmunds care homes are celebrating after the facilities scooped top prizes in a town flower competition.
Bury in Bloom recognises the most creative gardeners in the area.
This week, Glastonbury Court care home was proclaimed overall champion for the second year in a row.
The Davers Court facility won the bronze award.
Dedicated teams at both care homes work with residents to create and maintain the floral arrangements in the gardens.
To celebrate their latest achievements, Care UK, which manages both facilities, is inviting members of the public to tour the gardens.
This Saturday, visitors are invited to attend Davers Court between 10am and 12pm.
The home's garden has a number of Jubilee-themed displays, among other features.
A viewing at Glastonbury Court is planned for August 18, between 2pm and 4pm.
Sally Shadbolt, home manager at Davers Court, said: "We were thrilled to receive the bronze award at this year's Bury in Bloom.
"The team works tremendously hard to ensure our outdoor spaces continue to look impressive, and that the garden is a calming place for residents to enjoy.
"Residents look forward to Bury in Bloom each year, especially when the competition heats up between us and our friends over at Glastonbury Court, who we spend a lot of time with!
"We're looking forward to welcoming family, friends, and local people along to see our creations for themselves, enjoy our outdoor space, and discover what life really is like at Davers Court.
"We're looking forward to seeing everyone soon."
