Bury St Edmunds school’s Christmas Tree Festival pulls in the crowds
Hundreds of families were ‘rocking around the Christmas trees’ which were decorated by pupils to the theme of festive songs.
About 200 people flocked to the third annual Christmas Tree Festival at Guildhall Feoffment Primary School, in Bridewell Lane, Bury St Edmunds, on Saturday.
Each class decorated a total of 12 trees to the theme of Christmas tunes such as Frosty The Snowman and White Christmas. The public could vote for their favourite tree and the winner was the Early Years Hedgehog Class with their Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer theme.
Teaching assistant Donna Hazell organised the event with the Friends of Feoffment Committee.
She said: “The children absolutely loved it - the atmosphere was great and we had lots of Christmas music playing.
“The trees were beautiful. The children put in so much hardwork.”
The event also featured a competition for people to guess the Christmas song from the trees as well as a raffle with donations from local businesses and an appearance by Father Christmas.
