Bury St Edmunds pub awarded runner up for pub of the year award
A Bury St Edmunds pub has been awarded runner up for one of the categories in The Telegraph's and Sawday's pub of the year 2019 competition.
It was announced on Saturday in The Telegraph newspaper that The One Bull on Angel Hill came runner up in the best for community category.
Joint runner up for the category was The Crown in Hastings, Sussex.
In the article it says, 'Almost lost to a fire that the community pitched in to try to prevent spreading, it runs competitions to identify eco-friendly inventions and missions to make “Gusto Go Greener” (Gusto being the pub company) involving locals.'
David Marjoram, joint owner of the pub with his wife, Roxane, said: "It's been a tough 18 months, we have worked hard to get the pub back as quickly as possible and to continue working hard to create a nice environment and good hospitality.
"This helps recognise the work we have done and getting the pub back on track."
