Second man pleads guilty after Bury St Edmunds railway station machete incident

A second man has pleaded guilty to charges after an incident at Bury St Edmunds railway station that suspended trains on Thursday (July 11).

Police said two men were involved and one was found to be in possession of a machete blade.

Two men were arrested and 18-year-old Aaron Neziri, of no fixed abode, had already pleaded guilty to possession of a knife/ bladed article.

Now Flynn Matthews, 22, of Eldith Avenue, Fordham, has pleaded guilty to possession of a knife or bladed article and obstructing an officer.

He appeared in Ipswich Magistrates' Court on Saturday (July 13).

Both men have been remanded in custody and sent to Ipswich Crown Court for sentencing. The hearing has been set for Friday, August 2.
