Bury Leisure Centre gave out 50 donated presents from their Giving Tree Appeal to children at West Suffolk Hospital Children’s Ward and St Nicholas Hospice Care.

For two weeks, customers and staff have been taking tags from the ‘Giving Tree’ in the centre’s reception to buy presents for children who they have never met.

Clare Maller, acting manager of Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre, said: “We were utterly thrilled at the number of presents donated. There is no stopping the generosity of people in Bury St Edmunds.

“By adding an extra gift to their shopping list this year they have helped us put a smile on faces of children having a really tough time. We cannot thank people enough for their support and generosity.”
