Storm Ciara: Bury St Edmunds Farmers' Market on Sunday cancelled

The Farmers' Market in Bury St Edmunds on Sunday has been cancelled due to Storm Ciara.

A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for 'very strong winds and potentially some disruption to travel' throughout Sunday.

A spokesman for Suffolk Market Events said: "We have sadly had to make the decision to cancel the farmers' market in Bury St Edmunds on Sunday.

"Winds of over 50mph are forecast with gusts possibly reaching 80mph in the afternoon.

"I know this is really disappointing for everyone, all our stallholders and customers, but safety always has to be our first priority."

The Farmers' Market is due to return to Bury St Edmunds on Sunday March 8.

Long Melford Farmers' Market is due to go-ahead tomorrow from 9.30am in the village hall.
