If Nowton Park’s annual car show can get a few more entries this year’s could be the UK’s biggest free car show.

There are still places for dealers, car clubs and individuals’ special cars at the 2015 Cars on the Green and The Bury Motor Show on June 21.

Adrian Balaam, of the organisers Bury Retro Car Club, said: “We’re aiming for 1,000 exhibitors and if we can get that it would probably be the biggest free car show in the UK. It’s already the biggest in East Anglia.”

Though it is free to exhibit and enter, the organisers ask for donations for parking and exhibiting, which has raised more than £25,000 for charity over the past eight years.

This year’s show will be raising cash for Scotty’s Little Soliders and The Icanho Centre. Scotty’s Little Soliders helps childeren of fallen military service people with holidays and family days out. The Icanho Centre, in Stowmarket, helps people who have been affected by stokes.

Adrian said 21 new-car dealers have signed up, including, for the first time, TVR, MG and Subaru.

Also new this year is a raffle for a retro car – a Ford Mondeo mark one – and a Star Wars group offering the chance to pose for pictures with your favourite characters.
