A Brandon pre-school which needed new premises has been temporarily saved by Abbeycroft Leisure and Forest Heath District Council.

Fledgelings Pre-School, currently based in the town’s Scout hut, needed to find a new home for its 30 toddlers after being given notice to leave its current premises.

Emma Slaughter, Fledgelings Pre-School chairman said: “We provide high quality early years education and care, lots of local families rely on us to give their child the best start in their education, and also so that parents can go out to work.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has supported us in this transition. I am so grateful to Forest Heath District Council and to Abbeycroft Leisure who have so quickly found us a new home while we work on a longer term solution.”

Warren Smyth, chief executive of Abbeycroft Leisure looked forward to welcoming the pre-school and felt Fledgelings was an important service in the town.
