BurySOUND 2024 grand final at The Apex, in Bury St Edmunds, sees Jaded Teeth crowned winners
The biggest BurySOUND crowd ever witnessed the grand final of the annual event on Friday, at The Apex, in Bury St Edmunds.
Dead Distance, Headcheck, Helix, Jaded Teeth, Suns of Icarus and guest headliners Ikarus played ‘phenomenal’ sets in front of the biggest audience in the competition’s 26-year history, according to organisers.
The winners’ crown was taken by Jaded Teeth, with Headcheck taking the rising star award.
Organiers Tim Willett and Seymour Quigley said: “Huge thanks to everyone at The Apex and The Hunter Club, all of our amazing judges and everyone who bought a ticket for supporting new artists and helping to make this year's BurySOUND so lovely.
“Applications for BurySOUND 2025 will open in September and anyone can enter, so there is plenty of time to get ready if you form a band right now.”
Jaded Teeth have won a prize bundle including two days at Punch Studios, in Ipswich; two tracks mastered by Digital Morpheus Mastering; a merchandiseh pack from Best Badges; 70 T-shirts from Ouroboros Screen Prints; branding/logo/artwork design by Greyhound Creative; PR package for a single release from Shy Cat Publicity; two days' van hire from Neon Street Touring; a headline show at The Hunter Club, in Bury; a headline show at The Smokehouse, in Ipswich and one year's registration with the East Anglian Festival Network.
Meanwhile, rising star winners Headcheck will receive one song recorded at Crooks Hall Studio, in Haverhill; one track mastered by Digital Morpheus Mastering; free online store sign-up including a package from Bandmade Merch Co; a gig at The Smokehouse, Ipswich; a support slot at a Green Mind show, in Cambridge and an opening slot at the Just Push Play Festival 2024 launch show.
The other finalists each won recording time at The Bunker Studio, in Bury; discounted merchandise from Bandmade Merch Co and a four-hour practice at The Rehearsal Rooms, in Bury.
