Bid to enhance Moseleys Farm, in The Green, Fornham All Saints, near Bury St Edmunds, submitted to West Suffolk Council

A bid to enhance a village business park with two new units and 10 homes has been lodged.

RC Browne and Son has applied to West Suffolk Council to further develop Moseleys Farm, in The Green, Fornham All Saints, near Bury St Edmunds, with the aim of creating a ‘campus feel’ to the site.

A planning statement said the project would continue the farm’s pattern of buildings, with the proposed two new commercial units seen as the culmination of the business park.

The units, which would take an agricultural barn form, would house offices – one would be spread over two floors and would have open plan space, while the other will be on a single floor with three defined offices.

The statement said the units would be ‘flexible’ to meet the needs of proposed occupiers, but with the scope to change to future requirements.

Little detail has been provided so far on the proposed 10 homes, with the current application being for outline consent only.

However, the application made reference to the West Suffolk Local Plan’s details for the site, which outlines a mixed-use approach to provide around 10 homes.

Under the plans, a new 59-space car park would be created, including three EV charging points, three accessible spots, three spaces for motorbikes and room for 11 bicycles.

The new site would be linked with existing access points.

The application also included proposals for an extension to the existing village cemetery, at the eastern corner of the site.

The planning statement said the proposals would bring a space which was ‘otherwise a redundant plot’ into use.
