Mildenhall police stop beggars in town centre




Mildenhall police swooped on a man and woman begging in the town centre - handing them a warning letter.

Suffolk Constabulary said they were called on Wednesday, September 18, to the town after complaints from members of the public.

Police said: "The couple have been encountered and community protection notice warning letters have been served prohibiting further incidents.

"The couple were in their 30s and they have been begging in other town locations in the past couple of weeks."

It follows a commitment to tackling antisocial behaviour related to begging in Bury St Edmunds from new Inspector Matt Paisley.
