Beck Row drink-driver was more than double the limit
A man who drove while two and a half times the legal drink-drive limit has told a court that he regrets doing it.
Dawid Krawiec, 24, of Aspal Close, Beck Row, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Prosecuting, Tess Mann said Krawiec was driving on the A1101 at Barton Mills when he was stopped and breathalysed at 1.55am on October 18.
He recorded 88 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Appearing unrepresented, Krawiec told magistrates: “I know that I did the wrong thing and I regret it.”
He was banned from driving for 22 months to be reduced by 22 weeks on completion of a driving rehabilitation course.
He was also ordered to pay a courts charge of £150, a £100 fine, costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £20.
