Bury St Edmunds-based Undercover Glamour celebrates diversity with new products

A beauty company is breaking new ground in helping people to achieve their perfect look.

Undercover Glamour was founded by model and stuntwoman Catherine Peck in 2010.

At the first, the Bury St Edmunds-based company provided accessories for women such as hair extensions, eye lashes, breast enhancers and stick on bras.

The products were based on insider knowledge and ‘tricks of the trade’ Catherine learned as a model.

But changing times have meant the company, based at Menta business centre, and which trades online, is celebrating diversity with the products designed for anyone who wants to look beautiful, and build confidence.

“As an e-commerce business our reach is global and I think we have now sold items to every state in America as well to many customers in Scandanavia, and all over Europe,” said Catherine, who lives in Bury.

“About six years ago we started receiving requests for breast prosthetics from women who had had a mastectomy and were using our breast enhancers. We began to supply those at the time and now they make up a large proportion of our sales.

“This led to other requests from customers including trans people and even cross-dressers who use our products, and to whom we can also give product advice.

“Most recently we released a range of prosthetics, and other products, in darker skin tones as people were having difficulty find anything else online.”

Catherine has modelled at locations all over Europe for sports and fitnesses magazines. She also works as a stuntwomen and wears her own products on shoots.

“It was fashion consultant Gok Wan who first provided me with an insight into the world of looking and feeling our best, using accessories, and that is ultimately what my business is all about.

“It is for people who want to look their best for any occasion – and weddings make up a large

proportion of our business, for example.

“Brides, bridesmaid use our hair extensions and stick on bras for their dresses, for example.

“We also sell lingerie accessories such as nipple covers, body and fashion tape, bra strap converters, and bottom enhancers.”

Past customers for the company have included Britney Spears and Amanda Holden.

“Though we are known worldwide, we would like to build up our local customer base, too.”
