World Book Day at Hardwick Primary School, in Bury St Edmunds, had a focus on illustrations with draw-along with Nick Sharratt

World Book Day at a Bury St Edmunds primary school was all about illustrations and drawing.

The children at Hardwick Primary School dressed up and had an ‘amazing’ time yesterday participating in a live draw-along with Nick Sharratt, the talented illustrator of books like You Choose, Shark in the Park, and The Grumpy Bird.

Head of school Zara Cowling said they were fully immersed in the creative process, learning tips and tricks from Nick himself.

“It was a day filled with excitement and creativity, with a big focus on the art of illustration,” she said. “Staff at the school joined in the fun, spotty and black and white, all dressed up as Cruella de Vil and the 101 Dalmatians.”
