A man in his 80s is being treated in hospital for a head injury after being in collision with a car in Mildenhall this morning.

Ambulance and police were called to New Street at about 9.40am and a volunteer critical care team from the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) charity also attended.

The SARS team assessed and treated the man for 'a potentially serious head injury'. He was later taken to West Suffolk Hospital by land ambulance.

Suffolk police say the road was reopened at about 10.40am. Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 quoting CAD126 of July 24.
