Blaze at VC Cooke & Son warehouse near Beccles brought under control by firefighters
A large fire at a workshop near Beccles has been ‘brought under control’, the fire service has said.
Firefighters were called to the scene at the industrial estate in Benacre Road at about 7am today.
In total, fire crews worked to dampen the flames.
A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said the blaze took hold at the VC Cooke & Son workshop.
The entire building went up in flames, although there were no casualties, he said.
Emergency services, including police, remain at the scene and the Environment Agency has been informed.
The fire has been brought under control and crews are on standby to maintain it.
Earlier today, SFRS issued a warning to residents in the area due to the risk of smoke and fumes.
