Trapped person rescued from car after crash on B1062 at Shipmeadow, between Beccles and Bungay

Two people have been released from vehicles after a crash between Beccles and Bungay this afternoon – one of whom was trapped.

Police, firefighters, paramedics and an air ambulance were called to the B1062 Bungay Road, near Shipmeadow, at 12.43pm, following reports of a two-car collision.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue service said one person was trapped in a car, and rescued, while another was released from their vehicle.

One person is in the care of paramedics, while another was being looked after by the air ambulance crew.

According to the AA route planner, the B1062 remains shut near Barsham, after the incident.

Motorists should take care.

Firefighters left the scene at 2.15pm.
