Graze at The White Horse in Beccles to close for ‘foreseeable future’ after blaze causes ‘severe damage’
The owners of a town restaurant have announced they will be closed for the ‘foreseeable future’ following a blaze that caused ‘severe damage’.
A member of the public at 1.43pm yesterday reported smoke billowing out from the back of Graze at The White Horse, in New Market, Beccles.
Eight fire engines attended the scene and worked to dampen the flames using breathing equipment and hose reel jets.
Suffolk Police was also called to close both Ballygate and New Market at 2.05pm.
A spokesperson for Graze at The White Horse said on social media: “To all our customers, I am afraid to tell you all that for the foreseeable future Graze will be closed.
“As you all may know we have had a fire and it’s caused severe damage to our kitchen and restaurant.
“Both myself and Steve are devastated and would like to thank the fire brigade and crew and to everyone who has messaged with their support and kind words.”
There were no casualties from the incident.
