A143 crash at Earsham, near Bungay: Man arrested after motorist dies




A man has been arrested after a fatal crash on the Norfolk-Suffolk border over the weekend – and police are appealing for witnesses.

A silver Mitsubishi and a black Ford S Max collided on the A143 at Earsham, near Bungay, at about 8pm on Sunday.

A spokesman for Norfolk Police said the driver of the Ford was pronounced dead after the accident.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a man in his 30s, was hospitalised with a serious leg injury.

He has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, the spokesman added.

Another fatal crash happened on the A143 at Earsham in August.

Norfolk Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash.

Anyone with dashcam footage is also urged to come forward.

Motorists who could aid the investigation are urged to get in touch with Norfolk Police on 101 and ask to speak to the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting CAD reference 442 of the October 1, 2023.
