Beccles: Electric bike rider suffers life-changing injuries after serious crash with car

The rider of an electric bike was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries after a serious crash.

The incident happened shortly before 7pm on The Hill B1062 in Shipmeadow near Beccles, and involved a grey Seat Leon and an electric bike.

A man in his 30s suffered life-changing injuries and was taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital by air ambulance, where his condition is described as stable.

Following the incident, the road was closed and reopened in the early hours of the morning today.

Police would like to hear from any witnesses to the collision and are also asking any motorists driving in the area at the time with a dashcam in their vehicle to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.

Officers would particularly like to speak to the driver of a van that officers believe may have witnessed the collision.
