Lanes reopen on A14 near Newmarket following lorry trailer fire
Two lanes on the A14 westbound carriageway near Newmarket have reopened following an earlier lorry trailer fire.
Fire crews from Cambridge, Ely, Soham and Newmarket were called at 8.59am this morning to the incident near junction 37 just outside Exning.
The fire was in a lorry trailer and was 'well alight' when crews arrived.
A Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said the lorry cab was detached from the trailer and no injuries were reported.
One hose reel and breathing apparatus was used to extinguish the fire.
Lanes 1 and 2 were closed by the fire service following the fire, but have since reopened.
A tweet by National Highways said delays were clearing well.
The A14 J35 exit slip road remains closed.
