Fire crews attend A1065 near RAF Lakenheath and extinguish blaze in HGV tanker




Fire crews extinguished a blaze in an HGV tanker near an airbase this morning.

Police and the fire service were alerted to the incident on the A1065 southbound about half a mile from RAF Lakenheath at around 5.35am.

The lorry had broken down and an electrical fire had started.

Two crews attended the scene and extinguished the blaze, remaining on scene for an hour after to monitor it.

Recovery for the vehicle arrived at around 7.30am and the scene was cleared by 7.55am.
