Man dies after police, paramedics and air ambulance attend 'medical emergency' in Bury St Edmunds




A man died after police and the ambulance service were called to a 'medical emergency' in Bury St Edmunds.

The East of England Ambulance Service said they were alerted to reports of a 'medical emergency', in Ashwell Road, shortly after 12.30pm on Monday, January 4.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said a man 'was found collapsed in an alleyway near to his home'.

An ambulance service spokeswoman said a community first responder, two ambulances, an ambulance officer and the East Anglian Air Ambulance attended.

She said: "Sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone involved, a male patient died at the scene."

The police spokesman added there was 'no indication of any suspicious circumstances'.
