A14 vehicle fire near Bury St Edmunds sees police and firefighters attend

Police and the fire service were called to a vehicle fire on the A14 near Bury St Edmunds.

The fire service was alerted at about 3.45pm to the incident on the A14 eastbound between junction 40 at Higham and junction 41 at Risby.

Police were also called at just before 4pm.

Two crews – one from Bury St Edmunds and another from Newmarket – were at the scene.

A fire service spokeswoman said the fire was believed to have started in the engine compartment.

The incident was dealt with by 4.25pm.
